• Who can be a Mystery Shopper?

Anyone over the age of 18 can be a mystery shopper.

• How long does it take?

You should anticipate being in-store between 5-20minutes, and then the survey will take around 10-20minutes to complete.

• Will School of Retail pay for me travel/parking/lunch/other costs?

As much as we would love to, the short answer is no. We pay significantly more than other mystery shopping programs so all costs associated with getting to/from the store are at your own cost.

• Will I be an Employee of School of Retail?

No, you’ll be your own boss (hello, freedom!). As a Mystery Shopper with School of Retail, you’ll be working with us, rather than for us. For all tax advice and to make sure you’ve dotted your I’s and crossed your T’s, chat to your accountant to work out what is best for your individual situation (click here for the fine print).

• Will I get payslips or Group Certificates from School of Retail ?  

As outlined above, this is a no strings attached relationship (aka a contractor relationship) so you will not receive payslips or group certificates, but we can send you a tax receipt. Again, chat to your accountant for more information.

• When will I get paid? 

The cash will be in your account within 7 days of you completing your survey (this gives us just enough time to check that your responses are detailed enough).

• Can I contact anyone if I have a problem or a question? 

Yes! The good news is that, despite continually failing the ‘are you a robot’ test when online shopping, we are real life, actual people so give us a buzz on 1300 879 117 if you need a hand with anything (relating to the survey/shop that is – for all recipes, directions, relationship advice etc your best bet is Google).

• Can I shop at locations other than the ones I set in my profile?

Yes! You can keep earning money while you’re on holidays, just search the job board by location to see what jobs are in any area.

• Can I do any of the jobs?

Some of our brands are specific around the demographic of customer they would like to gain insights from (depending on their product, promotions, any particular concerns they may have etc) so you will only see the jobs that fit the demographic information you entered in your profile.

• Can I ask my friends to be mystery shoppers too?

Yes! We would love you to!
